Aside from all the drama that occurred between DeMarcus Cousins and the Kings over the years, he truly loved the city of Sacramento. During his going-away dinner Monday night, the All-Star fought back tears as he delivered an emotional goodbye message.
In a shocking move Sunday night right after the All-Star game, the Sacramento Kings traded DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans. In exchange for Cousins and Omri Casspi, the Kings received Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, the Pelicans’ 2017 first-round pick, and the Sixers’ 2017 second-round pick. Most critiques of the trade say the Kings could’ve gotten more for the “best center” in the league. The Pelicans seem to agree as they put this post on Twitter soon after the trade was announced.
