NBA Report: Mavericks Would Trade Deron Williams to Cavaliers for This…

LeBron James said the Cleveland Cavaliers need a “playmaker” and that they’re very “top heavy.”  He noted that he and Kyrie Irving play a ton of minutes because they have no other choice.  All that spells out that they’re very much on the hunt for a backup point guard.  They reportedly held workouts with Mario Chalmers, Lance Stephenson, Kirk Hinrich, and Jordan Farmar.  Now they’re exploring trade options.  The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly willing to part ways with Deron Williams, whom the Cavaliers are reportedly interested in, but would the Cavs be ok with this asking price?

Thanks to 2011, Dirk Nowitzki never had to pack up and go ring-chasing with his increasing age.  Instead Nowitzki is satisfied with the one ring he won and remains loyal to the Dallas Mavericks.  Though he has made $200 million in his storied career, he’s actually left a lot more on the table, all to benefit the Mavericks, the only team he’s known and loved.  Some expected Dirk to finally pack up and leave, to a championship contender and to get his just due, but alas he remains committed to Dallas.

With Kevin Durant selecting the Golden State Warriors, they had to make some changes to their roster to make room.  They began by renouncing Festus Ezeli, making him a free agent, and now as I reported before, Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut are on their way out too.

Mark Cuban is the funniest and one of the most engaged owners in the NBA.  After the Dallas Mavericks stole homecourt in game 2, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 85-84 thriller, Mavericks fans are excited for game 3 in Dallas.  The game starts at 6 pm CDT (7 pm EST) and some people might arrive to the American Airlines arena a little late after leaving work.  Cuban posted a letter to excuse fans from work early so they can view his special, elaborate pregame speech.
