I hope this isn’t true, because if it is, this dude needs to be smacked. Cowboys tackle Josh Brent who is currently free on $100,000 bond after being charged back in December with involuntary manslaughter in the death of his close friend and teammate Jerry Brown, may lose his bond as early as today. In the accident that killed his friend, Brent was driving drunk and that was the major factor in the crash. Along with his bond, Brent had a alcohol monitoring device installed in his car by order of the court. Well this week, that device detected alcohol in Brent’s system which is a huge no-no with the terms of his bond. Now according to a source, Brent did not drink any alcohol, and says the device has gone off in the past as well when Brent was not drinking. Sounds sketchy. Brent is due in court this morning regarding this. There is a very good chance he will have his bond revoked and be sent to jail until his trial. I sincerely hope after the death he caused, that he is smart enough to never touch alcohol again. Check out the video after the jump.
Now what owner doesn’t want their quarterback to be like Peyton Manning? While Cowboys QB Tony Romo will never be Peyton, Jerry Jones at least wants him to put in as much time. Read more after the jump.
Cowboys fan or not, everyone had an opinion a couple weeks ago when the Cowboys signed Tony Romo to a 6 year extension worth $108 million. Many of us all thought the same thing. How could a player who has never won anything get all that money. Only 1 playoff win since he has been there, and constantly disappointing seasons that ended without even making the playoffs. People have been wondering when would Romo get cut, but instead he got a huge deal. Well it seems it is not just fans who have an opinion. Romo’s pro bowl teammate and best defensive player DeMarcus Ware has something to say to Tony and he better listen. See what he said after the jump.
It might not be the record breaking deal Joe Flacco got last week, but Tony Romo will not be complaining about money anytime soon. Dallas didn’t want Romo to head into the final year of his current contract with no extension, which would then allow him to become an unrestricted free agent after next season. So Jerry Jones opened his pockets and gave him a 6 year extension worth $108 million dollars. The deal will make him the highest paid player in Cowboys history. Now for a quaterback who has never really led his team anywhere, and definitely has not gotten it done in the playoffs I am a little confused as to why they continue to stick with Romo, but I can’t hate on their loyalty to him. He is definitely a good quarterback, he just doesn’t have much to show for his career till this point. I would like to hear from Cowboys fans and see what they feel about the new deal. This new contract pretty much ensures he will retire as a member of the Dallas Cowboys since he is already 33 years old. The question still remains though, will he finally be able to take the team to the promised land, or at least get some playoff wins.
