Last night, So So Def’s past and present artists gathered on stage in Atlanta to celebrate 20 years of the house that Jermaine Dupri built. Everyone from Hov to Mariah Carey to Bow Wow to Usher were in the building, and most of the sets went off without a hitch. That is, until Da Brat had her set! While performing, the raptress…who’s known for her baggy clothing…apparently didn’t have her belt on too tightly and down her pants went! Luckily she was properly covered under there…unlike some of her other female counterparts in the business! Check out the hilarious pic in the gallery.
Without So So Def, Da Brat would not have been able to accomplish what she has in her career. Although you wouldn’t know by her lack of presence music right now, Brat was everywhere at one point in time and even became the first solo female rapper to go platinum. The 20th anniversary of So So Def is approaching and Jermaine Dupri has some big plans for the celebration. Recently, Brat took the time to reflect on her career with So So Def. Read more below.
In honor of their 20th anniversary, Jermaine Dupri invited some of the So So Def family to a private dinner in Atlanta. On hand were Da Brat, Bow Wow, Kris Kross’ Chris Kelly, Bonecrusher, Youngbloodz, Dem Franchize Boyz, Jagged Edge, Xscape’s LaTocha and Tamika Scott, Fresco Kane, as well as JD’s father. The dinner brought artists that haven’t seen each other in years together. The dinner party was also the first time that Bow Wow has met a member of Kris Kross and as Jermaine said, “Bow Wow is a product of Kris Kross.” Check out pics from the dinner in the gallery.
What in the strip club anthem!? I was a Brat fan as much as any, but this one right here…I don’t know what to say. I’m going to let you hear this one for yourselves. Da Brat, Shawnna, and Justina (???) does a “All Gold Everything” RMX “All Hoes Everything“. YES, another one. Drop down bottom.
I say HOT damn! I wish I could attend. It’s been 20 years since Jermaine Dupri created an iconic stamp on the game with So So Def Recordings. He is celebrating in a BIG way. Every So So Def artist will be in attendance at the concert that will be happening February 23rd at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. When I say everyone, I mean everyone. Da Brat, Bone Crusher, Bow Wow, Jagged Edge, Dem Franchise Boyz, Xscape, and even…WAIT…WAIT…Kriss Kross. They still play “Jump” on the radio to this day! I need JD to give #ME a personal invite. Mayor Kasim Reed of Atlanta allowed this cat to do a press release on the BIG event. There were alot of artists who showed up for the annoucement. Classic.
