Common Inks HBO Television Deal

Common has just signed a two-year first-look deal with HBO. Through this contract, with the help of his manager/partner Derek Dudley and development head Nicole Dow, Common will be permitted to produce a series of projects, through his production company Freedom Road Productions. He is also currently working on a drama with HBO’s competitor Showtime. The untitled production is set in Chicago and and is preparing to shoot a pilot episode. Common opened up about the upcoming series saying, “We’re showing the world what it is to be a young person growing up in Chicago, the good and the tough parts. The humanity.” Congratulations, Commmon!

Eli Manning is going to retire as a New York Giant thanks to the four year extension he and the team just finalized today. Manning will reportedly get $84 million over the four years, with $65 million of that guaranteed!
