(Video) Kendrick Lamar Talks His Relationship With Dr. Dre, “I” & More!

I’ve been waiting for today since news about the single, “I” broke. It’s here and now Kendrick is making his media stops with the first being Big Boy’s Neighborhood. The TDE artist talks Chris Brown’s “Autumn Leaves,” his relationship with Dr. Dre and the new single. “I was in the neighborhood [Compton]…The reason why we have so much turmoil in the city is from lack of self love,” Kendrick says about the new single. “If we don’t have self love so how can we love the next person? It starts from within and that’s why we carry ourselves the way we do.” (Hand clap). Hit the jump for more.

OK! Did You Know That Kendrick Lamar Will Be Headlining a College Class??

“good kid, m.A.A.d city,” Kendrick Lamar’s breakthrough album, has done more than ruffle the feathers of those mentioned (or not mentioned) in the Compton rapper’s verse on Big Sean’s “Control.” In fact, it seems that the album will be further established as a classic thanks to professor Adam Diehl from Georgia Regents University. Professor Diehl will be dissecting the 2012 album to shed light and emphasize the core narrative and societal influences it possesses according to REVOLT. More info after the jump.

Thug Life: Shots Fired From Drive-By Right Outside Of N.W.A. Biopic Filming!

The filming for N.W.A.’s upcoming biopic has already kicked off in South Central, Los Angeles (it’s only right.) As the crew was filming inside of the Compton Courthouse, shots rang out outside of the location and according to eyewitnesses, it was the REAL deal (NOT actors.) Although the police do not believe the shooters were targeting the filming crew, a nearby civilian did get hit by the gunfire and collapsed. Luckily, the victim survived. The filming will resume this week in yet another rough area of Compton although members of the crew are worried for their safety. The shooting is still under investigation by the L.A.P.D.

Ouch! Eazy-E’s Son Gets Denied Playing The Role Of His Father In N.W.A. Movie

There’s a lot of hard feelings in the air after Ice Cube picked a no-name to play Eazy-E in the N.W.A. movie over his own flesh and blood. Lil Eazy-E is NOT a happy camper. Ice Cube chose to cast his own son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., to play him in the flick and picked a completely random to fill Eazy’s role. Dr. Dre’s own son didn’t get casted either. However, Lil Eazy is still going to help support and promote the film in honor of his late father who passed in 1995. Do you think he should have gotten the role of his famous rapper father?

The NY Times Feature Kendrick Lamar!

The NY Times have featured TDE repper Kendrick Lamar, and set the tone by visiting the West Side native during his Barclays center performance; where he was surrounded by many in a private room, with little to no time. As a humble Lamar scanned the many waiting to be in his presence, he gave the times his view on the rap game, and his impact, including his Control verse.
