It’s been over a year since the shooting death of 12 year-old Tamir Rice and Monday (December 28th) an Ohio grand jury has decided that the officer involved in the incident will not face charges. The decision came after a drawn out investigation, that concluded the shooting was “reasonable” as the officer who killed Tamir Rice, while he was holding a toy gun, believed he was facing a threat. Prosecutor Tim McGinty, spoke about the grand jury’s decision and called what happened to Tamir Rice and his family “absolute tragedy.” He continued, “But it was not, by the law that binds us, a crime.” Read more below.
