Former New York Knicks player Charles Oakley was arrested and charged with three counts of assault and one count of trespassing after Knicks owner James Dolan called security and Oakley got physical with them. Soon after the incident, the Knicks released a statement saying Oakley behaved in an inappropriate and abusive manner and they hope he gets help. Chris Paul, president of the player’s association, tweeted out support to Oakley. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade posted support as well on their Instagram accounts.
NBA: Chris Paul Expected to be Out 6-8 Weeks After Having Surgery
Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul sprained his left thumb in the second quarter of Monday night’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder and was ruled out for the rest of the game. X-rays on the thumb were negative, but an MRI on Tuesday revealed a torn ligament. Wednesday Paul underwent surgery to repair the injury and will be out for quite some time.

It was this week back in December of 2011 that we thought Chris Paul was traded to the Lakers and he and Kobe Bryant were going to combine to be the best backcourt in the league. There were many players involved in the deal but the obvious focal point of it all was Paul but the trade never was completed after NBA commissioner David Stern allegedly vetoed it. The conspiracy theories ran wild at the time, with most accusing Stern of caving into pressure from other owners to not let the trade happen because of what it would do for the Lakers and how it would make the Hornets irrelevant. Stern remained very quiet in the aftermath of the trade not happening but he spoke about it this week and claimed the narrative we were all led to believe was completely false.
