Not sure how much it will matter at this point, but Caron Butler, who was put on waivers by the Milwaukee Bucks will sign with the Thunder tomorrow. He is a far cry from the player he was years ago and was not performing too well on the Bucks either. However he is a smart veteran who has been in tight playoff situations before and could be a big help off the bench for OKC, especially if he can knock down open shots he is sure to see with all the attention Durant and Westbrook will see. He also, similar to Derek Fisher could be a good mentor for some of the young players on the Thunder roster as well. Many people thought he would sign with the Miami Heat once he was put on waivers but instead he chose to be part of the OKC organization. He should be in uniform for the teams first game after Saturday.
NBA: Danny Granger Wants to Join the Heat But They Prefer Someone Else
Danny Granger was traded from the Indiana Pacers to the Philadelphia 76ers. Of course he was unhappy with the trade going from a championship contending team to a team tanking for the top lottery pick. The Pacers found Granger disposable after injuries sidelined him and Paul George emerged in his absence. Granger has made it quite clear that he doesn’t want to stay with the 76ers and they’re expected to buy him out so he can become a free agent. His destination of choice is the Miami Heat but they have someone else in mind.

On the tail end of his career, 11-year veteran and two-time All-Star Caron Butler got emotional as he did he introductory press conference with the Milwaukee Bucks. Butler was traded from the contending Clippers to the rebuilding Suns, as part of the deal that sent Eric Bledsoe to Phoenix. The Suns seemed satisfied with the addition of Butler at the time, but less than two months later, he was sent to Milwaukee in exchange for young assets and increased flexibility under the league’s salary cap. Hailing from Racine, Wisconsin, Butler got emotional about coming home to play. Check it out after the jump.

It has been a busy summer for Caron Butler. It was not that long ago when he was traded from the Clippers to the Phoenix Suns.
