I know this is not about Nicki, but damn she has to be going through it right now. Both her brother and her significant other are fighting cases, and it’s hard to remain happy when so many of your loved ones are facing some real ish! Her brother, Jelani Maraj, appeared in a New York court yesterday with their mother Carol for a preliminary hearing to set a trial schedule for underage rape charges. Though it was previously reported that Nicki had bailed her brother out, it is now being reported that it was their mother, and that though Nicki had previously purchased the two properties that were put up for collateral, they are in her mother’s name now and it was her doing.

Over the weekend, you’ve probably come across dozens of stupid posts on Instagram, alleging Fetty Wap is a devil worshiper and that the ad-lib at the beginning of the song “679” says exactly that. If you felt like giving yourself a headache, you probably even read the comments, where people are CONFIDENT that that’s what he’s saying, and seem to know so much about this kid from New Jersey selling his soul to become famous. Seems so totally legit, guys. You may or may not know that this all started because Nicki Minaj’s mom, Carol Maraj, tweeted (and later deleted):

Nicki Minaj is known for her explicit lyrics and extreme sex appeal. However, it looks like the Barbz isn’t the only one musically inclined. Nicki Minaj’s mother Carol Maraj went through a lot with Nicki’s father, including long bouts with domestic violence. She has since emerged as a survivor, and now wants to spread the message through her charity organization, The Carol Maraj Foundation, as well as her music. Carol is readying a gospel career, and on Saturday, November 23rd, will headline the ‘God’s Been Good’ concert at the St. Anthony Baptist Church in New York.
