It has all but been confirmed that Waka Flocka’s younger brother, aspiring rapper Kayo Redd, died from a suicide over the weekend. The official autopsy report should come at some point this week, but that is basically what his family and police are saying. The news is heartbreaking in itself, but adding in the fact that Debra Antney (Waka and Kayo’s mother) already lost a son (their brother) in 2000 from a car crash, that makes it that much harder. “He had just left my house and he headed down the street and the next thing I knew was my son was dead,” the Mizay Entertainment CEO said in a phone interview yesterday afternoon. Debra was naturally fighting back tears as she spoke, explaining that her son had been struggling with the fact that he couldn’t help take care of her the way that Waka was doing. He had an upcoming eye surgery that was troubling him as well. “My son was a good kid and I never had any problems with him,” Debra said. “I just don’t know why he would do such a thing?” It’s so, so sad…and truly goes to show that you NEVER know what someone is going through. Scrolling through Kayo’s Twitter, he seemed excited about the mixtape he’d recently released, Red Kisses, and the weekly radio show he was involved in.
