Earlier this year we reported five Brooklyn teens were arrested and charged with the gang rape of an 18 year-old girl at a Brownsville Park. The victim reported that while out for a walk with her father; Denzel Murray, 14; Shaquell Cooper, 15; Ethan Phillip, 15; Onandi Brown, 17, and Travis Beckford, 17, held them at gunpoint and raped her. The teens were charged, as adults, with one count of rape and sex abuse, and two counts of committing a criminal sex act. The victim has since recanted her story and now claims that not only did the group of teens not have a gun, they walked upon her while she was having sexual relations with her father. According to Brooklyn DA Ken Thompson, “The complainant has recanted her allegations of forcible sexual assault and the existence of a gun, and she does not wish to pursue criminal charges against any of the defendants. She also refuses to cooperate with any prosecution against her father, who was engaging in sexual conduct with her.”
One Dead, Others Hurt in Brooklyn Attack
29-year-old Lionel McLean was shot and killed infront of a Brooklyn apartment building. The man was simply visiting his girlfriend. Police found Mclean shot in the head and chest once they arrived. Witnesses say he and his attacker had exchanged words in front of the building before he was shot.

A NYPD lieutenant was hospitalized on Monday after being stabbed in the arm. The stabbing took place in Brooklyn.
A NYPD Officer And His Wife Have Been Arrested After A Brawl In Their Home
Officer Cleeford Louissant of the 9th precinct in Manhattan has been arrested for what appears to have been a brawl with his wife in their Brooklyn home which left both him and her injured.

Orange is the New Black star Dacha Polanco spent some time giving back at Progress High School in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Friday (January 16th). Polanco who is a Brooklyn native, spent time with 75 of the school’s seniors sharing her lecture on the importance of education and following their dreams. Part of the message Dacha shared was “Do not use excuses as a way not to accomplish the goals you have set and the dreams you may have,” she added, “Please know that there are choices in life and know that there are consequences to the choices you make. You might not understand it now, but as you grow older you will notice how all of your actions have turned you into who you are.” However, while at the school one of the seniors found the courage to as the 33 year-old actress to be his date to prom. She accepted his invite revealing she has never attended or been asked to the annual dance. Check out the video below.

The teens will be charged, as adults, with one count of rape and sex abuse, and two counts of committing a criminal sex act. The fifth suspect who was later identified, Travis Beckford, 17, has yet to be arraigned.
