NBA: Utah Jazz Throw a Shot at Deron Williams After Avery Johnson Gets Fired

The Utah Jazz are very familiar with Deron Williams and coaching issues as he is blamed for the firing/departure of coach Jerry Sloan.  Williams later expressed discontent with the team leading to his trade to the then New Jersey Nets.  Well it seems the Jazz still hold bitter feelings towards Williams when they sent out this tweet.  Check it out after the jump. NBA: Brooklyn Nets Fire Head Coach Avery Johnson

After their red hot start cooled down dramatically, pressure mounted for head coach Avery Johnson.  Today the Brooklyn Nets have relieved Johnson of his duties and named assistant coach P.J. Carlesimo as the interim head coach.  Read more after the jump. Shay Marie

(Video) NBA: Gerald Wallace Grabs & Holds Kevin Garnett’s Shorts Causing an Altercation Between Them

It appears that every time the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets play each other it results in a volatile situation.  Last time it involved Rajon Rondo and Kris Humphries who was kind enough to show off his scars while Rondo was handed a suspension.  During that altercation Kevin Garnett and Gerald Wallace also had a small scuffle nearby.  This time they were the main attractions.  Read more after the jump. NBA: Coach Avery Johnson Not Worried About Job Security With the Brooklyn Nets

Expectations were heightened for the Brooklyn Nets as they moved from New Jersey to the big bright lights in New York City.  Initially Avery Johnson was applauded for his work as Nets head coach during the fist two months of the season, when he led his team to an 11-4 start and was named Eastern Conference coach of the month in both October and November.  Since then, however, Brooklyn is just 2-8, in part because Brook Lopez went down with an injury that kept him out for five of those eight losses, but also in part due to Deron WIlliams having a down season, and being admittedly uncomfortable in his head coach’s system.  Now Johnson is in the hot seat.  Read more after the jump.
