Damn! Weeks After Her Double Mastectomy, Angelina Jolie’s Aunt Is Dying From Breast Cancer
This is incredibly sad, only weeks after having a double mastectomy to avoid breast cancer, Angelina Jolie may have to say goodbye to her aunt. Debbie Martin, Jolie’s aunt, is currently in a coma after being taken off life support. Martin, who is the sister of Jolie’s mother, suffered a seizure while in the hospital battling the cancer and that has led to her comatose state. Angelina recently announced that she had a double mastectomy following her family’s history with breast cancer and test results saying she was high risk for the disease. Jolie also plans on having her ovaries removed as well. Read more below.
Angelina Jolie Reveals She Had A Double Mastectomy To Prevent Breast Cancer
In one of the more shocking stories today, Angelina Jolie just revealed she underwent a double mastectomy procedure (had both her breasts removed) to minimize her VERY HIGH risk of breast cancer…which doctors told her she was at 87%! They also revealed she’s at a 50% risk of ovarian cancer. “Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive,” she said in a piece published today in the NY Times. She continued on to reveal she completed the 3 months of procedures back in April, and it was done at the Pink Lotus Breast Center. “I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive,” she added. “For any woman reading this, I hope it helps you to know you have options.”
