On Friday night the Lakers played the Celtics in Boston. Kobe Bryant who won’t return from his knee injury till February was just a spectator last night and it led him to reflect on better times when the Celtics weren’t rebuilding but the great team that took the Lakers to seven games in the 2010 NBA Finals.
Rajon Rondo gave his strongest indication yet Thursday evening that he is close to returning to the Celtics, perhaps within a few weeks.
Many would consider the two-time defending champion Miami Heat as a stacked team. They currently have 17-6 record and the second seed in the Eastern Conference. By all accounts they seem to be doing fine except for shooting guard Dwyane Wade. He’s still putting up impressive stats but Wade often has to be rested, sitting out games to preserve his knees. According to this report, the Heat may have a remedy to fix the situation.
The Boston Celtics are at the top of the Atlantic Division just like everyone predicted (sarcasm). People didn’t expect much from the Toronto Raptors or the Philadelphia 76ers but with the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks also struggling, the Boston Celtics find themselves in prime playoff positioning and now they’re close to getting their star point guard back.
The Boston Celtics were in Houston on Tuesday night to take on the Rockets. With their star point guard Rajon Rondo still on the sideline recovering from a torn ACL, the rebuilding Celtics were crushed by the Rockets losing 109-85. The Celtics shot a dismal 32% from the field and an one point the Rockets were shooting 69% percent from the field. Rondo was handed the stat sheet and the look on his face says it all.
