Hot 97’s Ebro Darden has some history with Rae Sremmurd. At the end of 2015, Complex listed the duo’s debut album, SremmLife, as the third best album of the year – a spot that didn’t sit right with Ebro. In an interview with the makers of the list, he said the guys were dope but in no way deserved to be number 3, particularly because, according to him, they don’t write their own rhymes. It’s been on ever since.

“Black Beatles” Has Brought Rae Sremmurd’s September Album Back Into The Top 10!
“Black Beatles,” the new single from Rae Sremmurd featuring Gucci Mane, went viral recently thanks to the Mannequin Challenge. Not only did its popularly give Gucci his highest-charting song ever (it’s currently in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100,) it’s now brought the duo’s September album back into the top 10! Jumping from its spot at number 21 last week, SremmLife 2 came in at number 5 this week, moving a solid 39k units. Of that, a whopping 21k came from streaming. Crazy!
