BJ The Chicago Kid kicked off the year with the release of his sophomore album, In My Mind. Now, to close it out, the R&B singer treats fans with the official video for “Uncle Marvin”. The video takes place in what seems to be an intimate house party consisting of some smoke, liquor, and BJ The Chicago Kid’s voice over a smooth Marvin Gaye sample.
Common just surprised fans with a remix to his Stevie Wonder featured track “Black America Again”. On the remix though, instead of Stevie singing the chorus, we have a combination of vocals from BJ The Chicago Kid, Bilal, John Legend, and Marsha Ambrosius. The song opens up with Gucci Mane showing a side many haven’t heard before, touching on the struggles of being a black man in a white country. Common also had his G.O.O.D. Music compadre Pusha T close out with a strong sixteen before the final chorus fades out.
