Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 5/19/13 …

Not a very interesting week for hip-hop on Billboard’s top 10 chart this past week. In fact, the only album that falls into the category is The Great Gatsby soundtrack, nabbing the number 4 slot in its second week out with 96k sold. Get the rest of the top 10 after the jump. Not mentioned below, though? Eve. She caught quite a brick with Lip Lock, coming in at 46 with only 8500 sold in its first week. Sheesh.

Besides winning Billboard’s Top Radio Songs Artist award, the Barbados-born songstress took home each of Billboard’s R&B awards: Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Album and Top R&B Song. Some of the R&B nominees she defeated are: Alicia Keys, Frank Ocean, Usher and Ne-Yo. Oh yeah. Another nominee she defeated was Chris Brown. Pour it up! Pour it up! Justin Bieber now officially has the highest-certified single according to Billboard for “Baby”, topping the previous record-holder Elton John for “Candle In The Wind.” It had been certified 11 times platinum, but Billboard has now changed the way they score best sellers.
