Though his predictions are usually always off, Punxsutawney Phil emerged this morning in Punxsutawney, PA for the 129th celebration of Groundhog Day and saw his shadow, promising six more weeks of winter. The famous furball’s “forecast” was announced just before 7:30 a.m. According to an old German legend, if a groundhog sees his shadow on the 2nd of February, winter will last another six weeks. If not, spring comes early. Myself and my fellow NY/NJ residents were certainly wishing for the latter this morning, particularly because we were watching snow fall from the sky, messing up our commute! I know you’re bummed about the 6 more weeks, but we’ll make up for it by watching highlights of one of the great movies ever – the 1993 cult-classic Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. Hit the jump!
