I’m surprised it took this long for Kevin Hart to release his own rendition of the popular “Harlem Shake” videos. This had his name written all over it! Watch his hilarious take on it below.

Another day, another person headed to court over uncleared samples. DJ/producer Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” is heating up the charts like crazy right now, but it may soon heat up the courtrooms as well. He’s currently facing not one but two different suits over uncleared samples. The first comes from Hector “El Father” Delgado, whose voice is used at the beginning of the song. “We can turn around and stop that song,” his manager told the New York Times. “That’s a clear breaking of intellectual property rights.” He doesn’t sound too happy! The second comes from Philly-based rapper Jason Musson, who says the song also illegally samples his track “Miller Time.” I’m sure a court date or two is on the horizon!
Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” record is the number one song in the country right now, but a rapper we know very well apparently sat on it for a full year and just never released it! It was actually meant for DJ Pauly D’s album and featured Jim Jones! I wonder if they’re pissed now? LOL! Below, Jones explains the situation to Jenny Boom Boom, and also discusses reality TV, the Dip Set reunion and more.
Not to be one-upped by his BX brother Fat Joe, French Montana became the latest rapper to jump on the trend yesterday while at Power 106 in L.A. Watch his version of Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” below.
The “new” Harlem Shake is a dance craze that is sweeping the web, all inspired by the fun track from Baauer. It’s NOTHING like the Harlem Shake we know from the 90’s with Black Rob at all. In fact, it’s almost the exact opposite. So to see someone like Fat Joe partake in the festivities…quite unexpected! It’s awesome, however, that we get to watch Joe Crack dance like a robot in the studio while his friends jump around in masks. Ah, the power of social media. Watch the hilarious video below!
I remember when Just Blaze did that Joe Budden track. It’s been a while, but the hip-hop producer is preparing to tour with Electronic Dance Music producer, Baauer. The two are combining the different genres (Electronic and Rap) for the “Big League Tour.” I can’t wait to see what is going to happen at this show. Touring begins January 25th.
