Samsung just invested 3% into Japanese tech company Sharp. As we all know Sharp is a major player when it comes to supplying Apple parts. Samsung invested about $110 million in the Japanese company for their LCD business. Whats interesting is Apple is a long time partner of company so its almost like Samsung is investing into Apple’s business, but at the same time Sharp has been a rival to Samsung when it comes to the TV market so this was definitely a interesting investment for Samsung. The Wall-street Journal says “For cash-rich Samsung, the move will ensure a stable supply of LCD screens for TV sets from Sharp. The Japanese company is the only LCD manufacturer that currently operates an advanced manufacturing facility—in a separate partnership with Hon Hai—capable of turning out TV panels from the industry’s largest sheets of glass. This allows Sharp to lower the manufacturing costs of TV screens larger than 60 inches. Samsung may also rely on Sharp to supply panels for tablets.”
New iPad Mini Could Drop In April!!!!
New news is speculating that Apple may release their 5th gen iPad as early as April. So far the 5th gen iPad casings have leaked from Foxconn, which does;nt mean that Apple will release a new iPad as early as April jsut means they are already in the works. Also the word on the new iPads are dont expect any big design changes (of course not) but expect a minor spec upgrades like better battery life. Is Apple releasing another iPad mini too early. In my opinion yeah, instead of pushing the specs up a little bit, but overhaul the entire device.
iPhone 5s And Cheap iPhone Have No Real Release Dates !!!!
We all know Samsung is now on the heels of Apple, and Apple is willing to widen the gap that share shrunk due to not inovationg the iPhone. The news reports suggest from a reliable source saying that Apple could now drop both the cheaper iPhone and iPhone 5s between June and October. Within in that time Samsung will have released the Galaxy S IV and the rumored Note III. So at the moment Apple has to put something in stone to widen the gap.“We expect Apple will introduce its new iPhones and iOS7 in June, and start shipping the new iPhones (5S and low-cost model) in the FDD version in July,” the analyst wrote in his note, which was picked up by MacRumors. “Both dates are earlier than last year’s roadmap. We attribute this to: (1) an effort to avoid repeating the fatal mistake of last year of the delayed iPhone 5 launch, which gave competitors room to grab market share; and (2) the new iPhones this year are mainly designed on the basis of the current iPhone 5, which suggests development time could be reduced.”
Who Did Samsung Hire???
In a turn of events, the Judge in England who forced Apple to give Samsung a public apology last summer has been hired by Samsung. The judge retired back in 2011 however former Judges in London can be invited to sit in on case. In the Apple case the judge claimed the Galaxy Tab did not look like Apples iPad which turned into Apple losing the case. Samsung has hired the former Judge to assist with its various patent battles with Apple and other high end cases.
The iPhone 6 Has A 4.5 Display??!!
Apple currently has a new cheap iPhone in the works, but what everyone wants to know is when is the iPhone 6 dropping. Well so far rumors have it Appple is waiting to drop it in 2014. Now the new rumor is the iPhone 6 is going to be 4.5 device, something that will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy S series smartphone. The device will also feature a polycarbonate body similar to the older Macbook pros lines a few years ago and will be thicker than the current iPhone 5. Rumors are also saying that Apple is looking to sell the device at $330, which is’nt so bad.
Samsung Borrows Wallet From Apple (Video)
Looks like Samsung just borrowed another idea from its rival Apple. Samsung just annouced at MWC its new feature Wallet, which is similar to Apple’s Passbook app for iOS. Just like Passbook, Wallet stores tickets, membership cards, boarding passes and coupons in one easy to access location. Watch the video after break.
