Angela Corey, the prosecutor against George Zimmerman, recently took on Marissa Alexander, a Florida resident with an abusive husband. On a night where her husband was abusing her and would not stop, Alexander shot a warning gunshot for her husband to take a step back. The gunshot had not hit anything, but unfortunately Angela Corey came down on her and sentenced her to 20 years in prison. Alexander tried to use the ‘Stand Your Ground’ defense but Corey dismissed it. This crazy injustice is just another example of how the system needs to be changed.
