There was recently talk of Kanye West taking Simon Cowell’s place on American Idol. It was said that the production team was interested in Kanye and also offering him a number that would be hard for him to turn down. Although it would have been quite interesting to see him on the show, we have learned that he will not be a judge on the upcoming season.

Back in October, Kanye West auditioned for ‘American Idol’ in San Francisco. Fans were only able to see a couple clips of the rapper’s audition in a commercial for the new season, however today, Ye’s full audition has surfaced. During the audition we can see a different side of Kanye as he stands in front of judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. He starts off, “I always wanted to rap but nobody believed in me,” he jokes, adding, “I just wanted to do something original. It has one of the judges names in it.” He goes on to spit his hit record ‘Gold Digger’ and the judges (especially J.Lo) were loving it. Check out the video below.

Mariah Carey Says American Idol is ‘Fake’ and ‘The Worst Experience’
Mariah Carey did not hold back when asked about American Idol in a recent interview. Judging by her answers she’s not still not a fan of the popular singing competition which she was a judge for back in 2013. In her interview on an Australian radio station she said the show was ‘boring’ and ‘fake.’
