Wow, apparently three months is all Lil Wayne needed for his latest album Tha Carter IV to get a double platinum certification from the RIAA!! It’s safe to say that the YMCMB album sales take the cake for 2011. More after the jump! Wendy L.

As expected, Drizzy’s sophomore release “Take Care” debuted at number one on the charts, selling a whopping 631,000 copies its first week! Amazing! His debut album “Thank Me Later” also debuted at number one, but it had only sold 447k, so he’s definitely on his way up. Congrats, Drizzy! Check out the rest of this week’s top 10 below. Major congrats to Wale!! His sophomore album Ambition had a crazy debut on the Billboard charts…clocking in at number two with 164,000 units sold! It really speaks volumes to how far he’s come since his 2009 debut album Attention Deficit, which sold only 28k units. Crazy what two years will do. Much deserved! Coldplay’s latest effort “Mylo Xyloto” has nabbed this week’s number one spot, as it moved a whopping 447,000 in its debut week. Nice!! Check out the rest of the top 10 below. Marisa Mendez
This girl cannot be stopped!! Her album “21” has been on the charts for months now and it’s still doing a solid 100k or more weekly, and now she’s landed back at number one! Insane! The album sold an additional 106k copies this week, putting its total at more than 4 million for the year…the best selling album of 2011! Congrats Adele! Check out the rest of the top 10 below. I find this to be kind of weird because I would swear Justin Bieber or some other young male has appeared at number one on the charts before with their debut album but apparently not! No contesting Billboard because they know better than all of us, and they have confirmed that “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery’s debut album “Clear as Day,” bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 197k. McCreery actually beats out Omarion for the youngest male to debut at number one, when his album “O” entered at number 1 in 2005 when he was 20. Congrats, Scott!
