Spotted at the DONDA-produced event were Kim and Kanye, Big Sean, YG, Nelly, Chris Brown and Karrueche and more. Yeezy gave QUITE the speech about his artist, which you can watch below via MTV. (Photos) Wiz Khalifa Hosts All-White Boat Party For Album Listening Session In NYC
On Friday afternoon, Wiz Khalifa took a quick break from the Under The Influence tour, and shot out to NYC to preview his forthcoming album Blacc Hollywood for the media. The party was hosted by Team Epiphany and Complex Media for their weekly #SummerFridays series, and was an all-white affair on a boat on the Hudson River. (Video) Big Boi Brings Out A$AP Rocky At SOB’s Concert In NYC
Last night, resident ATLien Big Boi kicked off the release of his second solo project Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors with a show at New York City’s S.O.B.’s. Hot 97’s own Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds hosted the event, while DJ Juanyto helped man the turntables. High energy and a funkafied hip-hop vibe were heavy in the building as the Outkast rapper and his live band ran through past hits such as “Rosa Parks” and “Ms. Jackson,” and performed tracks off of the new album. Big Boi treated fans with a live painting of the cover to his new album Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors, done by artist Misha Tyutyunik, and a surprise visit from Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky, who joined Big Boi on stage to perform their collaboration “Lines” with indie group Phantogram. Meek Mill’s album listening session for Dreams & Nightmares was quite a star-studded affair last night, with even Jay-Z and WILL SMITH coming through to show love to the Philadelphia newcomer. Rick Ross, Juelz Santana, Victor Cruz and more were in the building too. From the tweets of people in attendance (whose Instagram photos I used for the post…thanks Kaz and Sowmya), the album is what the streets have been missing!
