It is estimated that over 200,000 cars were damaged or destroyed when Hurricane Sandy tore through New York at the end of October. So logically, those cars have to go somewhere right? That is where Calverton Executive Airpark comes into play. The airpark is on Long Island, and is very rarely used. The insurance company who is responsible for at least 15,000 of those damaged cars at this point agreed to pay the airport $3,200 for every acre of land they take up, which could wind up being close to $3 million.
