When news broke that Adrian Peterson’s son was severely beaten by his mother’s boyfriend, everyone assumed it was Adrian Peterson Jr. That was the only son Peterson was seen with and discussed numerous times. It turns out it wasn’t AP Jr., it was another son no one knew about because the paternity of the child was in question and Peterson only learned recently that the child could be his. Support is pouring in from around the country for Adrian Peterson. Whether you know him personally or not, the tragedy that happened today hits home for anyone who has someone they love. Athletes and celebrities whom Adrian Peterson had made friendships with were some of the first people to offer condolences and show love. I was especially touched reading the tweets from Lebron. It has been hard to keep up with the constant flow of details surrounding this tragedy. I have a heavy heart as I write this, as I am sure you all do while you read. The story is starting to piece itself together and there are some details that just jump out at you. Before going any further let me once again send my condolences on behalf of everyone at #IFWT to the Peterson family and the family of the son’s mother. More and more details are coming out in this tragedy. 27 year old Joseph Robert Patterson is in custody relating to the abuse of Adrian Peterson’s son. As of right now he has not been charged with murder, but that will change soon. Patterson actually just very recently moved into the same house as the little boy. There are reports that be previously assaulted a 3 year old boy of a former girlfriend. He also has a son himself, which makes this situation more unexplainable. (Update) NFL: Adrian Peterson’s Two Year Old Son Has Passed Away
Sadly, Adrian Peterson’s 2 year old son has passed away. The tragic news was reported just a short time ago. Earlier we reported a man who was dating the boy’s mother was arrested and charged with assault and battery of an infant. I expect those charges to now be upgraded to murder in the coming hours or days. This is such a terrible story. Adrian has asked for the media to respect his privacy, so not many other details are available as of yet, but we will stay on top of this. The entire #IFWT team would like to send our condolences to the Peterson family.
