An Atlanta man can be facing up to 20+ years in prison after throwing drain cleaner on his girlfriend’s face for breaking up with him. 44-year-old Andrew Fordham was found guilty on two counts of aggravated battery after the attack against his now ex-girlfriend, Christy Sims, that left her face disfigured for the rest of her life. The incident occurred back in April of 2013. Sims claims when she walked into the bathroom to get a towel as he advised her to do, he was standing there with a bowl full of the industrial strength drain cleaner and then proceeded to chuck it at her face. “I don’t think he was trying to kill me, I think he was trying to make me unattractive because he doused it right in my face,” Sims said. She also explained that Fordham failed to tell her that the 911 operator was telling him to have her wash her face off. Instead, he lied and told her to sit there and not touch it.
