Citing A&F’s notorious dress policy as unfair, 18-year-old Hani Khan took her issues to court. Khan was fired from the brand’s Hollister store in San Mateo California back in 2010 because she refused to remove her hijab while on the clock. Abercrombie & Fitch in Willow Grove Park recently cut Amber Mitchell’s hours at work from five days a week to one day because she died her hair blonde like the other employees. The only difference is, she’s black and the other girls are white. Amber, who is also a student at Penn State Abington, explains that her boss told her “You’ll have to dye your hair back to brown. That color isn’t natural and you can’t work with this color.”

Mike Jeffries, the CEO of Abercrombie And Fitch, is probably wishing he can take back the ugly remarks he made in reference to what his customer aim is. Jeffries, who certainly doesn’t meet his description, wanted his clothes to be worn by “cool, good-looking people.” His remarks caused outrage and rightfully so! The CEO has since apologized for his remarks but many do not find him to be sincere. Things aren’t looking to good for Abercrombie & Fitch. A federal judge has ruled that the company violates the Americans With Disabilities Act with its porch front stores and blocked ramps. A company spokesman said that the raised entrances were designed to create an entry to a house in Southern California that you would walk up onto the porch or walk down into the porch, to enter, like you would do at a beach house…well obviously they aren’t thinking about people who are in wheelchairs !!
