(Video) BET Previews Dave East’s Cameo On ‘Being Mary Jane’

Photo Credit: BET [Screenshot] Dave East had a breakout 2016, landing the XXL Freshman cover, touring the country, charting with his Kairi Chanel mixtape and most notably, signing a record deal with Def Jam. Now he’ll be kicking off 2017 with another major accolade – his first acting gig. The Harlem rapper will appear on the season premiere of BET’s Being Mary Jane. In a preview of the cameo, Dave can be seen playing himself, performing on a show and then being interviewed by Gabrielle Union’s character. Gaby has previously stated in interviews that she’s a fan of East’s music, so it wouldn’t be surprising if his appearance was a personal request from the star herself! Check out the clip below. Being Mary Jane premieres on January 10.

A&E Cancels Their Upcoming ‘KKK’ Docu-Series Because of THIS!

Grand opening, grand closing. Just days after debuting the trailer for their forthcoming docu-series Generation KKK, the program has been cancelled all together. Naturally, anything involving the KKK would be met with extreme outrage, and many thought A&E to be attempting to “normalize” the hate group. The name of the show did not help, either. Upon seeing the trailer, it became clear that they were instead focusing more on how such a hate group negatively impacts the children involved, and even followed around a handful of people who were trying to escape. However, many did not see the trailer and backlash immediately ensued, so A&E opted to change the name to Escaping the KKK: A Documentary Series Exposing Hate in America to help avoid confusion. That didn’t work either.

Mariah Carey Throws ALL The Shade At Demi Lovato & Ariana Grande

Photo Credit: Bravo [Screenshot] Mariah Carey dropped by Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live! this week, and of course she brought all of the shade she could! As Mimi discussed her new reality show, she was asked about singer Demi Lovato, as Demi previously ranted about how offensive Mimi’s infamous “I don’t know her” line in regards to Jennifer Lopez was.

“I don’t know her either and so I wouldn’t say anything to her. She should come up, introduce herself to me, say ‘Here’s my opinion, what do you think about it?’ That’s how you handle sh*t, OK?”

When asked about Ariana Grande – who people often care to Mariah because of her vocal range – she said:

“I don’t know. Honestly, I’m not familiar. I listen to Hip Hop more than I listen to pop music.”

Hilarious! Check out all of the clips below.
