The Holland Tunnel has been closed since Sandy swept the tri-state off its feet over a week ago, causing commuter nightmares across the board. But some good news has come out of the Governor’s office, as they’ve announced it will reopen tomorrow morning at 5am! Best news I’ve heard all week! Update: Hurricane Sandy Shuts Down Transportation, Holland And Battery Tunnels To Close At 2 p.m.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced that the Hugh Carey Tunnel (Brooklyn-Battery) and the Holland Tunnel will close on 2 p.m. Monday as a precaution against flooding. The Queens-Midtown Tunnel will remain open until further notice. If winds hit 60 mph the MTA and Port Authority will close bridges also. Click below to find out more. WiL Major
