It seems now that the skipping a year for the third installment of ‘The Purge’ movie has been worth the wait. The trailer for the third movie has just been released and it’s appears this time around the film will be making a solid political statement. Titled, The Purge: Election Year, the film will be seemingly appropriate as this year is an election year. The new film takes place two years after the second film, with Frank Grillo returning to the scene as anti-purge hero Leo Barnes. He’s back as head of security for a senator Charlene Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), who is planned to be killed during the Purge by higher ups who see her as a threat. Barnes is on a mission to protect her throughout the annual murder affair which leaves puts them on the streets of D.C., fighting for their lives. BET Teams With American Black Film Festival For The First Annual ABFF Awards
With the lack of diversity in the Oscars (look at the above photo from their nominees brunch), the Golden Globes and more, BET Networks and the American Black Film Festival have decided to take matters into their own hands. Together, the entities have announced the ABFF Awards: A Celebration of Hollywood. “It’s clear that there’s a need for this show,” BET’s President, Stephen Hill, said. “2015 was ripe with tremendous and inspiring performances by African Americans and we are beyond thrilled to be the ones to recognize them with class and admiration.”

Zola’s Story Is Being Turned Into A Movie, Directed By James Franco
A stripper by the name of Zola shot to Twitter infamy when her tale of tricking and stripping went viral back in the fall. Months later, she’s still capitalizing off of the fame, and the story will now be turned into a movie – directed by none other than James Franco! The film will be based on David Kushner’s story for Rolling Stone, published in November and titled “Zola Tells All: The Real Story Behind the Greatest Stripper Saga Ever Tweeted.” The script will be written by Neel and Mike Roberts, while Franco and Vince Jolivette are producing through their Rabbit Bandini Productions with Killer Films’ Christine Vachon and David Hinojosa, and Gigi Films’ Gia Walsh and Kara Baker.
