Over the weekend, the first episode of the Roots remake aired – which chronicles the history of an African slave sold to America and his descendants. The story has been controversial and some – like Snoop Dogg – have spoke out against it, while others like T.I. (who’s in the movie) are in support of it. O’Shea Jackson Jr. falls under the former. A Film For A Thriller Written By Heavy D Is In The Works
According to Variety, film producer Gordon Bijelonic plans to bring a police thriller co-written by the late Heavy D to life. D’s daughter, Xea Myers, will executive produce the film. Crossed is described as “inspired by a gritty NYPD detective who jeopardizes his life and career when he crosses legal and moral lines to bring a drug kingpin to justice.”

The Rock Promises Jumanji Reboot Will Honor Robin Williams Properly
As previously reported, The Rock has signed on to be a part of the reboot of the 1995 Robin Williams box office smash, Jumanji. It’s left many fans of the original film apprehensive, however, as reboots can certainly go left, and with Williams no longer with us, he’s not here to have any input. The Rock promises to do it right, though. “An important thing that I want to be honest and bring up is Robin Williams,” he wrote on Twitter. “The love and respect I have for this man is boundless. You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of ’Alan Parrish’ will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of JUMANJI in an earnest and cool way. I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud.” He also revealed some new details about the movie.
