Notre Dame Soccer Team Wins its Third Womens College Cup!
Adriana Leon scored in the 63rd minute and Notre Dame defeated Stanford 1-0 on Sunday to win its third NCAA Women’s College Cup championship. Melissa Henderson assisted on the goal for the Fighting Irish (21-2-2), who joined North Carolina as the only schools with at least three Women’s College Cup titles. No. 1 Oregon Secures Trip to BCS Title Game!!
Quack Attack!! Along with all that flash and dash and those snazzy uniforms, No. 1 Oregon will bring a hefty dose of good old-fashioned grit to the BCS national title game. Msnbc reported Heisman Trophy contender LaMichael James, Kenjon Barner and the fast-paced Ducks negotiated the last speed bump on the way to Glendale, Ariz., grinding out a 37-20 victory against Oregon State in the Civil War on Saturday. Cam Newton Likely Sealed Heisman After Today’s Performance!!
The Associated Press reports that Cam Newton has left nothing to chance. He ran and passed the Auburn Tigers to a shot at the national championship they were denied six years ago, and he might as well start working on that Heisman pose, too. Newton passed for a career-high 335 yards and four touchdowns, plus ran for a pair of TDs in an MVP performance that led No. 2 Auburn to the Southeastern Conference championship with a 56-17 rout of Steve Spurrier and No. 18 South Carolina today. The Tigers, who came into the day sitting atop the Bowl Championship Series standings, must wait 24 hours before getting the official word, but it’s nothing more than a formality: They’ll be playing Oregon for the national title on Jan. 10 in Glendale, Ariz. @wendyKlucas
Cincinnati Mascot Arrested During Game for throwing snowballs!
Posted by:Â @wendyKlucas The Cincinnati football mascot has been arrested during the Bearcats’ game Saturday. According to the Associated Press, the mascot was told to stop throwing snowballs and then pushed a security guard. He was detained and cited for disorderly conduct and has yet to be identified.
