Pontiac, maker of muscle cars, ends after 84 years!

The Pontiac name plate is is going out of business. The General Motors brand was known for muscle cars drag-raced down boulevards, parked at drive-ins and roared across movie screens.  The 84-year-old brand has been moribund since GM decided to kill it last year as it collapsed into bankruptcy and was in decline for years before that.

Aston Martin Lagonda SUV … “This looks a little funny to me” – Funk Flex

Aston Martin’s Lagonda concept, the British manufacturer’s attempt to bring back the legendary brand, has had quite the tumultuous past. In September, it was announced that the project was going to be stopped, due to negative feedback from the general public and automotive journalists. Now however, it seems the Lagonda is back and will be based on the Mercedes GL platform, according to Ulrich Bez (Aston Martin’s CEO). At a lecture that took place yesterday in Rotterdam, Bez revealed that the new Lagonda will indeed be built, ending rumors that Aston’s next project will be a new sedan based on the Rapide. He also told the press that the supercar maker plans to manufacture only 22 One-77s. AE

NBC is developing The Crew, a testosterone-heavy underdog family drama set in the world of NASCAR from Heroes writer-producer Joe Pokaski and NBC Universal-based producer Scott Stuber. The ensemble revolves around the family of distinctly different “brothers” on a NASCAR racing team who have their own lives and dreams, opportunities and problems — but as a team share a singular goal to be the best.


Bentley to Reportedly Make Special Edition Continentals

Bentley has managed to make a lot out of one model line. From the Continental has emerged coupe, convertible and sedan bodystyles, in standard, Speed and Supersports engine specs, with a smattering of special editions along the way. Toyota Accused of Forcing Car Owners to Keep Quiet About Unintended Accelertion Issues

(Detroit Free Press) – New court filings accuse Toyota of secretly repurchasing vehicles whose owners reported unintended acceleration and forcing owners to sign confidentiality agreements promising not to discuss their complaints.
