Auto:(Video) Plymouth Ad From The 1930’s Shows Some Strange Stuff

The way this video starts, it makes you wonder if Plymouth back in the day was some part of a government conspiracy or just a car company, with the way they compare things to “trial by torture”. Some of what they mentioned as far as getting the truth of out people or things is still used today, whether people want to admit it or not. It was creative however the way it was compared to finding out things from cars. This video taken sometime during the 1930’s shows to what lengths Plymouth would go to test their cars and to show what the cars can handle. The “crash dummies” back then were no dummies at all. They were actual stunt drivers and engineers who worked on the cars themselves. To me the craziest part of the video is the way actual live drivers used to test the car by dam near killing themselves. It is a very interesting video if you can get past the creepy way it starts. Watch the clip after the jump.

Auto:(Photo) The Superman Car (Teaser)

I bet when you imagine a car made after the man of steel, you don’t think of Kia. You probably think of some high luxury brand or a truck, but actually Kia has already made quite a few cars based on the different heroes and villians from DC comics. They have done cars based on Batman, The Flash and Green lantern just to name a few. The Batman car was definitely a very popular look, but I think the Superman inspired Optima will draw even more attention. It will be revealed next week at the auto show in Chicago, but in the mean time I included a teaser pic in the gallery, as well as a photo of the Batman inspired car from last year. Justice League unite!

Auto:(Video) Poll: Is This Volkswagen Super Bowl Commercial Racist?

Volkswagen is taking alot of heat for one of their upcoming commercials for the Super Bowl next week. The past 2 years, commercials for VW during the big game have been huge for the company, drawing rave reviews while being entertaining. The criticism that they are feeling now has to do with the “get happy” theme of the ad. The car maker used a song from reggae artist Jimmy Cliff. The racist remarks stem from having a white actor being portrayed with a Jamaican accent. In my opinion for someone to try and label this racist or insenstive is quite a strectch. It is meant to be entertaining and funny to all viewers of all races and ethnic backgrounds. While I do understand where some of those feelings can come from because of the accent being used and the cast of the commercial being mainly caucasian, that is where the humor is supposed to be found. To me, this ad does not come off in any shape, form or fashion as being insenstive. But that is my opinion and everyone is entitled to have one and we would love to hear some of yours. Watch the video after the jump and then take the poll below the video.

Auto:(Video) You Know The Saying “Life Flashed Before Your Eyes”…Literally

You can insert any cliche saying about death here. Within inches of your life, watching your life flash before your eyes, staring death in the face, etc. Watch the video below of an accident that occured a couple days ago. The final part of the crash is what I am referring to, when a tractor trailer is about to take out the sliding car and literally misses it by inches and stops. If I was riding in this car I would of had my heart in my stomach and took the biggest breath ever once I realized I made it. Check the crazy video below.

Auto:(Photos) Hate It Or Love It Poll: Rose Gold Audi R8 SuperCar

You got about $400,000 laying in a sock drawer? Then this car could be yours. Someone decided to take their Audi R8, which is already one of the dopest cars by itself, and wrap it or paint it in rose gold. Definitely not something you are going to see on a daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly basis. I been in love with the R8 ever since I first saw it in Juelz Santana video for “back to the crib”, but I am not sure how I feel about this custom rose gold paint on the car. As far as we know there is literally only one in the world like this. It still does however pack an engine that is going to kick out 525hp. Check the gallery for pics of the ride. This one is for the super rich, but tell us what you feel. Take the poll below after the jump.

Auto (Racing) How Many Millions Does It Take To Host A Formula One Race?

Now I see why formula 1 races are mainly held in other parts of the world outside of the U.S. You gotta have a really strong racing fanbase to explain the money that is spent on bringing a F1 race to your city, and even though there are a few F1 races in the U.S. each year, I would not consider the states a strong fanbase for it. According to leaked documents from a newspaper in Australia, it could cost on average, anywhere between $31-37 Million dollars to host a race. Meaning the city hosting the event is actually paying F1 for the priveledge. So where does F1 come out of pocket?? The documents also show that taxpayers are the ones who are left holding the bill when races come to town. Sounds kind of grimey to me, but like I said, if you have a rabid fanbase for anything in general, usually it wont cause much of an uproar. Hit the link after the jump to see more.
