When people get fired from any job, they usually have some excuse as to why the company did them wrong, or they were fired for some off the wall reason. This coach however may be on to something. I don’t know about you but in all my years of watching sports, I have NEVER seen any coach in any sport get fired after going 25-6 that season. That is just what happened to Virginia Commonwealth University volleyball coach James Finley. Finley who is openly gay, has coached at the school for 8 years, and this past season they finished with the best record during his 8 year tenure. He was fired one day by the athletic director and told the program needed to go in a different direction. A new athletic director took over this past August and that is when Finley says he started to feel isolated by the administration. My personal opinion on this matter is I might agree with coach Finley. Anyone who goes 25-6 as a coach under no circumstances other than some drastic reason, should never be fired as a coach. That is a great record for a season. The fact the the athletic director knew he was gay when he took over also adds to the potential that this firing was motivated by something other than wins and losses. NFL: (Photos) Colin Kaepernick’s Tattoos A Problem??
There has been quite a bit of controversy lately surrounding San Francisco 49ers new quarterback Colin Kaepernick. But those issues are what you would expect when a team decides to start a different quarterback on a team that was already winning. What is not expected is that somehow Kaepernick’s tattoos have become the center of attention today. This is really nonsense that this is even news. Some idiotic reporter who I am sure wanted to accomplish a goal of maybe getting his own personal agenda on front street decided to make a story that basically degraded Kaepernick because he has alot of tattoos. Last time I checked this was the NFL, and not a wall street job where a shirt and tie are the norm. As if he is the first or the last player who will be covered in ink. The reporter went on to say a quarterback is basically the CEO of a team and should not look as if he just got paroled. What a joke. Some people will write anything for attention. NCAA: 4 Hofstra University Mens Basketball Players Charged With Burglary!
I remember being a broke college freshman, and I may or may not remember having to steal groceries time to time during my freshman year, but I will never understand why so many Division 1 athletes with scholarships jeopardize their future with one small stupid decision. 4 players from the Hofstra University mens basketball team have been charged with burglary. The charges include a string of burglaries on campus from student dorm rooms. The players stole cash, computers, and other electronics. In a twist to the story, earlier in the season, the coach of the team reported having some electronics stolen from the athletic office area. Police are now investigating if these same players were responsible for that theft as well. I do not want to judge anyone, maybe these players financial situation was so dire they thought they needed to do these burglaries, or maybe they are just immature kids, but either way they may have ruined their basketball futures for really nothing. All 4 players are suspended indefinitely and will most likely wind up being kicked out of school if they are found guilty. NBA: Kenyon Martin Says Basketball Wives Are Toxic!
I am glad someone else feels the same way as me when it comes to the trash known as VH1’s Basketball Wives. Someone caught K-mart coming out of a club in LA last night and asked him his opinion on that show. Thankfully he didn’t hold back. NFL Rumors:(Video) Is There A Conspiracy In Philly??
Micheal Vick has missed the past couple games due to the effects from another concussion. According to Vick, he is ready to play, and was expecting to be cleared to play this Sunday against the Cowboys. NBA: Breaking News! Spurs Fined $250K By The NBA
Just a few minutes ago, NBA commissioner David Stern came down hard on the San Antonio Spurs organization. The NBA fined the team $250K for sending their marquee players Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli home on a commercial flight before the start of the game with the Miami Heat. Commissioner Stern was very upset with the way the Spurs went about it and the fact that fans were deprived of the chance to see the great players in person. Check the link below for the full story.
