Award season is in full swing. Following last night’s Billboard Music Awards, next up is the BET Awards, going down June 26 in Los Angeles. The nominees have officially been announced, and Drake is leading the way with 9 nominations, with Beyoncé and Rihanna trailing behind him, tied for 5 each. (Guess he really did turn that 6 upside down, huh?) Check out all of the nominees below. (Interesting they left Iggy out of the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist category this year! And there was definitely room, as they only had 5 nominees, and some categories had 6. No shade, no shade!)
There’s always some truth to every joke but did she take it TOO far? Olympic track and field, bob-sledder, model and Dancing With The Stars contestant Lolo Jones got into the Halloween Spirit and dressed up as Chicago Bulls superstar Derrick Rose, but not just any Derrick Rose. Jones dressed up as a injured Derrick Rose and left nothing undone.
So, the Billboard Music Awards have ended, and it is now time for another show; the 2015 BET Award nominations are in. In a tie with Chris Brown for six nominations, Nicki Minaj is the lady leading the pack. Nick makes it in ‘Best Collaboration’ with August Alsina for “No Love” remix, ‘Video of the Year’ for “Anaconda” and of course, Best Female Hip-Hop Artist along with DeJ Loaf, Iggy Azalea, Tink, Trina and Azealia Banks. Banks is already counting herself out of the game.
While August Alsina made his first stop on his ‘Testimony Live’ Tour in Seattle last Thursday, the N.O. singer brought reinforcements along for his opening show. G.O.O.D. music’s first lady, Teyana Taylor came on as Aug’s opening act, and got the crowd hype for the heartthrob. Tey who is gearing up to drop her debut studio album on October 21st,VII gave fans a sexy prelude of things to come. Watch the triple threat inside.
Turn down for what?! The stars keep coming out for OVO Fest 2014. Drake had the “The 6” on their feet as he performs his hottest collaborations with DJ Khaled, YG, Tinashe and OB. J.Cole hits the stage, Drake show’s some love to Trey Songs, and Usher serenades the Toronto crowd.
