Ohio St. investigating tattoo allegations; players traded autographs for tattoos

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Ohio State is investigating allegations that several football players traded autographs for tattoos, according to multiple reports. WBNS-TV and The Columbus Dispatch, both citing unidentified sources, reported on their websites Wednesday night that the school was looking into the possible NCAA violations just two weeks before the Buckeyes face Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 4.


More College Football Players Taking Money – Former Sports Agent Admits

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl A former sports agent tells Sports Illustrated he paid college football players early in his career, and several of them confirm it to the magazine.  Josh Luchs says in the Oct. 18 edition he paid more than 30 players from 1990-96, including many who didn’t sign with him. He says quarterback Ryan Leaf, the second pick in the 1998 draft who famously flopped in the pros, took more than $10,000, most of which he voluntarily paid back after signing with another agent. Leaf declined to comment on specific allegations.

Ex-NFL QB Art Schlichter Sentenced To 10 Years In Jail

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Troubled former NFL quarterback Art Schlichter was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday for his involvement in a million-dollar ticket scam. Schlichter, a former Ohio State star, pleaded guilty in Franklin County Common Pleas Court to 12 counts of theft and one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors, The Columbus Dispatch reported.


NFL: Former Saints Player Will Smith Shot To Death, Wife Also Shot During Road Rage Incident

This is so tragic and so senseless it’s sickening. Former New Orleans Saints player, Will Smith, along with his wife were both shot late last night In New Orleans in what was an apparent road rage incident. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene while his wife is expected to survive.
