Tyler, the Creator Debuts With Great First Week Sales!!
Wow, congrats man!! I knew Tyler had a buzz but I definitely didn’t think he’d move the units he did his first week. His debut album, Goblin, sold just over 50,000 units and landed him at number 5 on the Billboard charts! This is according to HitsDailyDouble which calculates sales a little early so this number might slightly fluctuate. Not by much, though, so congrats Tyler!! Very cool. @MarisaMendez

Tyler Perry Keeping Oprah’s Network Alive? It’s no secret that Oprah’s OWN Network was struggling in the beginning. The viewership was down and they were having a hard time connecting with audiences. Mona Scott even gave her opinion some time ago on the “Ebro In The Morning” show. She stated she was unaware of the target audience for the OWN Network. Thanks to good friend Tyler Perry I think they have figured it out. OWN network currently has four of the “Why Did I Get Married ” Creator’s series;and has ordered 20+ Episodes of each. “Oprah Winfrey’s partnership with Tyler Perry has been a tremendous success, garnering millions of viewers for OWN and setting ratings records.” More info after the jump.
Tyler Perry Racial Profiling Charges Dropped
The charges against the officers that were accused of racially profiling Tyler Perry were dropped. Creator of Diary Of A Mad Black Woman, Tyler Perry recently charged the Atlanta Police department for what he believed was racial profiling against him. Perry explained that he was coming from an Atlanta studio and heading to the airport when he was stopped by two white police officers for making an illegal turn. As stated on rhymeswithsnitch.com he said that he made the turn to ensure he wasn’t being followed, when the officers allegedly turned hostile, repeatedly badgered him and refused to let him go.
