I said it before and I will say it again. Either Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are in the midst of the biggest troll job ever with sports fans or the idea of this fight is getting serious. The back and forth comments from both fighters seem to be flying faster than Floyd’s punches at this stage but there is still so much skepticism about it actually going down that it’s hard to take serious.
The Portland Trail Blazers started off strong on Monday night and seemed to have a viable chance to even the series up. But the Golden State Warriors were resilient and Stephen Curry returned to MVP mode in overtime, scoring an NBA record of 17 points as the Warriors won 132-125 in OT. The Warriors will now go back to Oakland with a commanding 3-1 series lead and a chance to wrap it up on their own court. Are the Blazers done? Well Draymond Green seems to think so.
The hype surrounding Kobe Bryant’s final game in the NBA came at a great time for the Lakers because it made people, at least temporarily, forget about the drama with D’Angelo Russell and Nick Young and the whole snitching incident between them. It is likely that Young won’t be back next season with the Lakers as they look to Russell to lead them into the future but it brought back memories of two other famous Lakers teammates bickering over a snitching incident of their own. Shaq & Kobe’s relationship soured real bad after Kobe snitched on him to police in Colorado during his interviews regarding the rape charges he was facing at the time.
Taj Gibson of the Chicago Bulls was in his feelings last night and he should be. His Bulls just finished being defeated by the Knicks at MSG, one night after suffering the same fate from the Knicks back in Chicago. The Bulls are fighting for the playoffs while the Knicks are already planning vacations for May and that fact wasn’t lost on Gibson, who was “embarrassed” with the effort of teammates.
