Sports: Gucci Mane Discusses NASCAR, Michael Vick & Why College Athletes Shouldn’t Be Paid

I was a bit surprised when I came across this interview Sports Illustrated did with Gucci Mane.  They asked him about his friendship with NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin, as a Falcons fan what he thinks about the Michael Vick situation and what Brick Squad would be if it were a sports team (funny answer).  What surprised me the most was his answer on whether or not college athletes should be paid.  Check it out after the jump.

NFL: The 8 Players Hit With The Franchise Tag

Eight players were tagged by the NFL’s 4 p.m. ET deadline yesterday. All those players (except Anthony Spencer) are now guaranteed a one-year salary that is commensurate with the top-five salaries at their respective position. Spencer is guaranteed a higher number ($10.6 million) because he was Dallas’ franchise player in 2012 as well. Check out who the other 7 players are after the jump…

NBA:(Video) Pacers All Star Paul George & Teammates Play Dodgeball With Fans

I love when players really try to make an attempt to interact with their fans on a personal level. This is exactly what Paul George, Roy Hibbert and a few other Indiana Pacers players did with some of their biggest fans. They took part in a dodgeball game with fans. Best part is some of the Pacers were on different teams so they were really going in and trying to win. I love how they were willing to do something different with their fans and have fun at the same time. Shows a different side to them. Check out the video after the jump.

NFL: DC Mayor Wants Redskins To Consider Name Change —What Do You Think?!

The mayor of Washington, D.C., Vincent Gray would like the Washington Redskins to reconsider their nickname. I’m not a Redskins fan, but I lived in DC for years and the Skins fans I do know don’t want a name change.  I understand the change should be done to be politically correct, but I don’t think they are disrespecting Indians or the culture…BUT I am not Indian and I’m just speaking as a football fan. What do you guys think?! Report after the jump… GameTimeGirl
