@OSheaJacksonJr Will Not Boycott The Oscars

There is a lot of talk going on about the Oscars right now, as many are upset about the lack of diversity in the nominees. Notable names like Jada Pinkett-Smith, Tyrese and Snoop Dogg have announced their decisions to boycott the prestigious awards ceremony until a real change comes, and even the Academy’s President has released a lengthy statement about the situation, promising a concerted effort moving forward to prevent the lack of inclusion. In the conversation about the lack of diversity in the nominees, Straight Outta Compton has come up quite often – as not only did it feature amazing acting from newcomers O’Shea Jackson Jr., Jason Mitchell and Corey Hawkins, but it broke box office records around the globe, and shined another much-needed light on racial profiling from police – a very pressing issue right now. Despite all of this, however, it was only nominated for Best Screenplay…and guess what? The film’s two writers? Yeah, they’re white. SOC star (and my future children’s father! Hey bae!) O’Shea Jackson Jr. isn’t worried, though, and he still plans to be in attendance, come February 28. (Totally available that day if you need a date, Shea…)

DeRay Davis & Grace Gibson Added To Tupac Biopic

The Tupac biopic, All Eyez On Me, is in production, and they’ve been adding to the cast week after week. We already know that Jamal “Gravy” Woolward has reprised his role as Biggie (as he played him in the Biggie biopic) for this, newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. is playing Pac and Kat Graham will play Jada Pinkett-Smith. Now comedian DeRay Davis has been added as “Legs,” a Pac associate from Baltimore who is described as “a smooth brutha from the streets.” Above, he’s pictured alongside Outlawz member Young Noble, who will be playing himself in the film. The role of Faith Evans has been cast as well, going to actress Grace Gibson. Check out her pic in the gallery. I truly can’t wait to see how this turns out.

(Photos) Tyrese Suggests Chris Rock Forfeit His Position As Host Of The Oscars

Jada Pinkett-Smith (with Aunt Viv adding her commentary), Spike Lee, and Snoop Dogg are among the many celebrities who feel that The Academy has continuously overlooked the Black community of actors and actresses when it comes down to the Oscars. This being the reason other celebrities, namely R&B singer Tyrese, are making attempts to stop Chris Rock from hosting the upcoming ceremony. Tyrese has offered his opinion on Rock not making the show by asking him to “do the right thing.”

(Video) Snoop Dogg Goes Off On The Academy: “F**k You…I’m Not Watching The Oscars”

Well, it looks like Snoop Dogg will be joining Spike Lee and Jada Pinkett Smith in boycotting this year’s Oscars. The Academy has been under fire since releasing the list of nominees last week, which proved once again that Hollywood is not in support of black actors or films after snubbing some of this year’s greatest films like Creed and Straight Outta Compton. In an Instagram video posted Monday night, Snoop Dogg explained he will not be tuning into the Oscars this year because quite simply, “ain’t no n*ggas nominated.” He went on to further explain his thoughts about the Oscars adding, “All these great movies and all this great sh*t ya’ll keep stealing from us. F*ck you.” Check out the full clip below.
