Top 10 Album Sales Week Ending 11/14/11…Congrats @MacMiller On Your Number 1 Album!!

Congrats to Mac Miller hitting the number one spot on Billboard’s Top 200 this week with the debut of his very first album, “Blue Slide Park,” moving 144k units! This isn’t the only good news for Miller, as it is also the first independently distributed debut album by an act to hit number one since 1995 (Tha Dogg Pound’s “Dogg Food”)! Crazy! Between debuts like his, Wale’s and J. Cole’s, it’s really looking like record sales are on the rise again! Check out the rest of the top 10 below. Marisa Mendez

Top 10 Album Sales Week Ending 11/7/11…@Wale Has Amazing Debut!!

Major congrats to Wale!! His sophomore album Ambition had a crazy debut on the Billboard charts…clocking in at number two with 164,000 units sold! It really speaks volumes to how far he’s come since his 2009 debut album Attention Deficit, which sold only 28k units. Crazy what two years will do. Much deserved! Guess Which World Famous Singer Was DENIED a Spot in the BET Cyphers!!

This just goes to show you star power means nothing if you don’t have the talent to back it up. There’s no denying this artist is an AMAZING singer but as far as rapping goes…it’s a lane they should stay away from, and the BET Cyphers producer and coordinator DJ Premier made that loud and clear. The legendary DJ denied this crooner a spot, especially because they wanted another Cypher artist, Ludacris, to write their rap! What part of the game is that?! Find out who below! Marisa Mendez

Top 10 Album Sales Week Ending 10/10/11 … American Idol’s Scotty McCreery Becomes Youngest Male to Debut at Number 1

I find this to be kind of weird because I would swear Justin Bieber or some other young male has appeared at number one on the charts before with their debut album but apparently not! No contesting Billboard because they know better than all of us, and they have confirmed that “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery’s debut album “Clear as Day,” bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 197k. McCreery actually beats out Omarion for the youngest male to debut at number one, when his album “O” entered at number 1 in 2005 when he was 20. Congrats, Scott!
