Nas has been hard at work on executive producing the new Netflix 70s hip-hop series “The Get Down”. He was also given a tremendous responsibility for writing all of the shows songs, from all different perspectives in a style that’s not his. But you know one of the GOAT’s made it happen and he details the grind below.
Executively producd by NAS, the show will chronicle the last days of Disco in 1977 and the birth of hip-hop in the Bronx. Starring Jaden Smith this show follows a group of teens in not only their come up as adults, but the get down of hip-hop as a culture. Watch the new main trailer after the jump!

Netflix has announced that it will be partnering with Univision for a new show about the made-for-TV life of El Chapo. “We are thrilled to partner with the award-winning Univision Story House on the timely and globally relevant drama series based on the life story of El Chapo,” Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos said in a statement. “El Chapo is a great example of how Univision continues to innovate and evolve with premium storytelling formats,” Univision CEO Randy Falco added. The series is titled El Chapo, and will premiere on UniMas in 2017. It will then be made available exclusively on Netflix. We’ll keep you updated as more info arrives!
Creator Baz Luhrmann, will be creating his first series for television. The series will be called ‘The Get Down.’ It will centralize around the 1970s in New York.
