Nascar: Edwards claims pole with record time at Phoenix

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Carl Edwards won the pole at Phoenix International Raceway in Friday’s qualifying with a track-record lap. Edwards ran a lap of 136.389 mph in a Ford for Roush-Fenway Racing to earn the top starting spot in Sunday’s race. He broke the record of 135.854 set by Ryan Newman in 2004.


NYC Marathon – 2 first time marathoners pick up the men’s & women’s title, rescued Chilean miner participates in marathon

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl In a race with against over 45,300 other people, including one Chilean miner, Gebre Gebremariam finishes first in the 2010 ING New York City Marathon Sunday. Gebremariam is a 26-year-old first time marathoner from Ethiopia. The 5-10, 123-pound Gebremariam, is the first rookie marathoner to win the race in 27 years.  He finished with a time of 2 hours, 8 minutes and 14 seconds. That’s an average pace of 4:53 per mile — for 26.2 miles! Kenya’s Emmanuel Mutai  finished second, in 2:09:17. American Meb Keflezighi, the 2009 NYC Marathon champion, finished in sixth place with a time of 2:11:30.

Rick Ross announced today he will be embarking on a new tour this fall to promote his latest effort, Teflon Don.
