The Panthers released Jarrett on Tuesday afternoon, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers’ wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett was arrested on DWI charges early Tuesday morning, his second such arrest in less than three years. According to the Mecklenburg County sheriff’s office, Jarrett was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and taken to the county jail for processing. Jarrett, 24, of Charlotte, was arrested on March 11, 2008, by Mint Hill police for DWI. In that case, Mint Hill police said an officer saw Jarrett cross the center line and run a red light.

Also watching at home on television were at least five whistle-blowers who noted that the Reds were violating Ohio’s indoor-smoking ban. They called Cincinnati’s health department to report the team and now the Cincinnati Enquirer reports the club is under investigation.

Everyone knows it’s World Series championship or bust.” Derek Jeter scored three runs and drove in another for the Yankees, who have reached the postseason every year but one since 1995.
