Kodak Black has now settled a dispute he had with the Florida label that signed him back when he was 16. Kodak filed a lawsuit against his former record label Dollaz and Dealz back in 2016. He says the label took advantage of him at the time of his 2013 signing. Kodak says he didn’t completely understand the terms of his contract because of his age and there was no attorney present.
Kodak says he also was not treated fairly on the label and was not paid regularly. Even though he signed to Atlantic in 2015, he still sue his former label for breach of contract. Kodak’s label pointed out that Dollaz and Dealz did not have the talent agency license required by Florida state law. There is not much detail on what happened inside of the court room. What we do know is a judge has thrown out the case and dismissed it “with prejudice.” This means Kodak can no longer sue this label.
