To celebrate this year’s Record Store Day, Sony is releasing the official version of Andre 3000’s Beatles cover of “All Together Now.” The record may sound familiar and if it doesn’t, we’ll tell you why below.
In 2010, one half of Outkast, Andre 3000, recorded a cover of a classic Beatles’ song “All Together Now” for an NBA commercial. The record never came out, but that’s all about to change this Spring, 7 years later.
According to Pitchfork, on April 22nd Sony will release the official version of Andre’s cover of the Yellow Submarine record on a 7” vinyl to celebrate this year’s Record Store Day (4/22). Only 5,000 copies will be made and you’ll get to hear Dre’s vocals on the B-side. You can check out that NBA commercial below with a teaser of the song:
