Azealia Banks is headed to trial later this month, facing multiple assault charges for allegedly attacking a security guard by spitting in her face and biting her boob when she wasn’t allowed into a private party at an NYC club back in 2015.
As prosecutors prepare for the legal battle, they’ve began unearthing key elements of Banks’ past, hoping to paint the picture that the “212” rapper has a history of violence and deserves some real repercussions.

“This is a case where she slashed her sister in the neck, the arm and the hand with a box cutter,” Assistant DA Shea Donato told the New York Daily News, recalling a 2009 incident. Banks plead guilty in the matter, but received special treatment because she was only 17 at the time.
According to Complex, Donato hopes to use this incident in the upcoming trial, along with last year’s infamous fight with Russell Crowe.
Ultimately, Judge Ann Scherzer will be the one who decides if any of the aforementioned incidents will be allowed to be mentioned in the trial. Jury selection begins this Wednesday.
